This is the corner of my little living room... |
But that isn't really the beginning. I actually started wearing vintage clothes and hats when I was in high school. Most of the hats I found were quirky and not my style, so I didn't keep them. I do still have my Junior Year Prom dress, even though I couldn't possibly fit into it any longer. It's peach chiffon from the 1950s, and I had my hair styled for the period, too. I think those gloves are still in my mom's cedar chest. They have matching peach roses embroidered on the wrist. I go all out, baby. I'm doing the same when it comes to fixing up hats and jewelry. Ad Hotsie Totsie gets going, I'll post before and after pics of the hats and brooches I fix up. And I hope that entices you to purchase something for yourself. You don't have to go all out vintage. I'll show you how a small hat can dress up jeans and a blouse, and I'll point you to places to get help styling your hair to make the most of your hats. I look forward to sharing my work with you!
